A qualified minority enterprise is a business that is at least 51% owned, controlled* and managed** by one or more
minority group member or women. For the purpose of the Kimball Office Supplier Diversity program, a minority group
member is a US citizen that is of African American, Hispanic American, Asian Pacific American, Subcontinent Asian
American or Native American heritage.
A woman-owned enterprise is a business that is at least 51% owned by a nonminority woman who is a US citizen and
controls* and operates** the business.
*Controls means exercises the power to make policy decisions
**Manage or operate means has involvement in the day-to-day management of the business
